A 27-year-old man who intervened when an alteration involving a woman escalated is facing charges in Prince William County after hospitalizing another person during a fracas in Woodbridge overnight, police say.
Drumfries resident Isaiah Tyree Williams was arrested and charged with malicious wounding following an incident that played out in the 13200 block of Occoquan Road on Tuesday night.
Shortly before 9 p.m. on Jan. 23, members of the Prince William County Police Department were called to investigate an assault after a 49-year-old woman and an acquaintance were involved in a verbal dispute that rapidly escalated.
In response, Williams allegedly intervened and struck his victim in the face before fleeing the area on foot.
His victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, and Williams was tracked down by investigating offiers walking along Occoquan Road after the assault.
He was detained without incident.
Williams is being held without bond pending his next court date.
